A multivitamin usually only supplies the RDA amount of Iodine.  Many studies have shown that our bodies actually need much more then this. It is thought that a woman weighing approximately 110 pounds needs about 5 mg of iodine per day to prevent fibrocystic breast disease.  Another study performed 80 yrs ago used 9 mg a day to control goiters in adolescent girls. Iodoral is a fantastic supplement that supplies about 12 mg of Iodine per dose; the same amount per day as the Japanese consume on a daily basis.  Japanese women have a very low rate of breast cancer - it is speculated that this is because of their high intake of sea vegetables, which are high in iodine, selenium (which works with iodine to maintain healthy thyroid function) and other essential vitamins and minerals. 


Tyrosine:  Tyrosine works with Iodine to support your thyroid, is a mild stimulant, mood enhancer and can help with mental and brain function.

Eliminating toothpaste that contains fluoride is one of the most important things you can do.  Fluoride can be absorbed through your mouth and saliva glands, and there is also a chance of swallowing the fluoride.  I have been using Tom's of Maine for years now, and my teeth are white and healthy.  And considering fluoride can inhibit thyroid function, just changing your toothpaste alone could help you lose weight!
